One of the things that a lot of kids that grow up to be successful have in their youth is a job.
I suppose it could be raking leaves, bagging groceries, mowing lawns, pet sitting or whatever.
They find out at an early age a numbr of things. They learn to be on time, they learn a lot about people. They learn how to count money. In short they gain a sense of responsibility.
The truth is that if a kid fisishes his schooling at high school graduation and has worked for a few years while in high school he's probably a lot better off than some coddled safe space dweller that graduates from college with a Woman's Dance Therapy degree.
In fact he's likely to do better than some buffoon that has a master's in puppetry.
Incidentally the best of both worlds is probably a young person with a STEM degree that worked his way through college.
