Yeah? So? The guy spent his entire hitch as a payroll clerk in California. He picked up his weapon once a year for qualification, period. Of course, that doesn't make the guy a bum by any means. It simply makes him a Marine payroll clerk. It's an honset job in the Corps.

Churchill used to get upset because it took about nine servicemen to keep one guy in the lines. It still probably does. It is also said that amateurs study tactics and professionals study logistics. There's a lot of truth to that.There is a lot of tonnage required to keep a single guy on task and someone's got to do it.

Just about everyone that sees a GI of some sort seems to think he's a shooter of some sort. While, of course, some are, most are not. They are doing other things to keep the shooters on the line.
