Right now I am watching a thing called VEXIT 2020

West Virginia is offering the counties of Virginia the opportunity to leave tyranny behind by coming a part of West Virginia.

While it sounds outrageous and impossible there is one county that can do this at their leisure, Frederick county.

The Frederick county eligibility for this goes back to the Civil War when West Virginia was shucked off of Virginia and made as a separate state of the Union. Virginia, as everyone knows was a part of the Confederacy.

Frederick county was offered the chance to become a part of WV and didn't take the offer. The offer never was retracted and they can probably leave at will.

I imagine it would be rather hard for the other counties to quit Virginia but it is likely not insurmountable.

Still, it is an interesting concept for those Virginians not wanting to live under tyranny.
