The basement is eye scorching bright now, and the garage is pretty damned close to it.

because I had the electrician install a couple of extra lights in the garage.

I also installed an extra string of six lights in the basement. 

The walls of both the basement and the garage were DryLoked white. The sheet rocked garage ceiling was painted flat white and the joisting and floor overhead were given a couple of coats of white shellac. It reflects light for certain!

It's a lot better than it was before the fire.
