Trickle down economics works no matter what any dopey liberal wants to tell you.
I have not heard a whole lot of stories of anyone making any kind of real fortune without bringing a number of people up with him.
When Cornelius Vanderbilt made his fortune on railroads and shipping he didn't sail those ships and build that railroad all alone. Any of his ships had to be built and manned by someone. This created some pretty good jobs for the time. Vanderbilt also didn't build locomotives and lay his own track, either. He hired a lot of other people to do it for him and he paid them.
Same holds true for just about every other person that made a fortune. They didn't stuff every dime into their own pockets. It would be interesting to calculate just what some of them did for other people.
When Bill Gates turned the world on its ear with his climb to the top of the computer and software business he didn't stick every dime in his pocket. He hired people and in the process made an unknown number of millionaires and created countless middle class jobs. His employees bought homes, cars, groceries and created even more jobs in the process.
The very products he created enabled other people to make their fortunes. Where would Amazon be if there were no computers? Probably a small mail order house in Hometown USA.
Hell, I know a busy brick and mortar sporting goods store I used to buy from regularly. Last time I visited them they commented that about two thirds of their business was on line. The brick and mortar place was still as busy as ever but a glance into the back room let me see a couple of guys boxing up an awful lot of merchandise for shipment. Bill Gates had an indirect hand in this. They were likely using his software to take on line orders with.
People that blather about how CEOs are over paid should simply buy stocks in the company of their choice, attend the shareholders meetings and speak out. My advice is to have a thick skin. You are probably going to get laughed at.
