Another day another dime or whatever.

Sometimes I wish the US Dollar was actually based on gold. It was for a while, one ounce of gold was worth $20.

Somehow that inflated to about $32 when FDR took us off the gold standard. 

The thing that has happened to many of us over the years is that we had faith in the future and the system and saved money. Inflation is now knocking the hell out of our savings. It won't be long before a lot of us wish we had just spent the money we saved on memories as the only thing that can take those away is Alzheimer's.

There was a time not too long ago when a million bucks would buy someone an entire Major League Baseball team. Now it's questionable if one can retire with a million bucks. Inflation has sure made that amount of money shrink.

From retiring and being able to play golf six days a week to living on cat food seems to be a regular story these days.
