I have finally come to the conclusion that craftsmanship is its own reward and in this day and age there are too many people that don't have even a remote clue.
I was admiring an old restored car and it was immaculate and was totally showroom quality, a relic from the 1920s. It was an incredible display of craftsmanship.
Someone came by, took a look at it, looked at me and asked why someone would have such an old car.
Most people in the US today wouldn't know or appreciate quality craftsmanship if it jumped up and bit them in their kneecaps. I think this is why we are inundated with so much poorly made/designed junk for sale everywhere. Such a shame.
