Always find out the name of the guy you're buying fireworks from.

It it's something like One-eye Bob or Three finger Tommy then you know they're probably pretty good fireworks.

Guys like that always seem to have the good stuff.

I have always believed in giving responsibility to youngsters at an early age.

Now THIS is how to raise sons!

The Abernathy boys.

In other news I see where Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars.

I expected nothing less from someone born and raised in Philly.

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air was a perfect role for him. He was a punk kid then and hasn't changed a bit. Fame and fortune were wasted on him.

Of course fame and fortune has been wasted on a number of other people but that's neither here nor there.

What is so difficult about being a Supreme Court Justice and doing it right?

First of all the job should not be political. Their job isn't to further the agenda of any party. It is to interpret the Constitution, period.

It also doesnot requre a law degree, only the ability to read and understand the English language as the Constitution was written in plain English so We, the People can understand it.

There is no reason that a working stiff with good English language skills could not serve as a Justice on the Supreme Court when you stop and think about it.

In fact maybe we would be better off if we booted them all out and replaced them with working stiffs that can read and write.

On buying beer for teenagers.

I don't but in a way it's not that bad of an idea according to a woman I met at the airport. It's a long story on how the converation went that way but she says she does it occasionally because if the kids don't find someone they resort to drugs.

She pointed out that store bought alcohol is safe and factory sealed and that street drugs are not. She figures (rightly so) that kids are going to do what kids do and they're better off with something that's been manufactured in clean conditions as opposed to some kind of home brewed whatever that's been made in someone's unregulated basement.

I see her point.

She said she makes damned good and sure the kids are not going to be driving.

Of course if the subject does come up I lie and say I do it because it washes the dope out of their systems.

Freezing someone's bank account is just plain wrong.

In fact I am saddened to realize the government seems to be able to do that to people.

As usual the same gang of imbeciles that thinks it's OK to do it to someone else are going to throw an epic conniption fit when it happens to them.

There is no shortage of stupid people out there that are willing to let the powers that be take something from somebody else but go stark staring bonkers when it happens to them.

Years ago some idiotic skinhead group wanted to hold some kind of a rally and the mayor tried to stop it citing that the rally was racist.

As usual I signed the petition that went around telling the mayor that he didn't have the right to pick and choose who held rallies and got flak about being racist.

I pointed out that the American Communist party has the same rights the John Birch Society has. As a libertaran I had no choice but to stick up for the rights of people I loathe.

I responded that they wouldn't like their right to hold a rally being stopped because the mayor didn't like them.

Liberty. Sometimes it's a bitch.

I am writing this post to pass a little time

I have an errand to run but it's not under any sort of time constraint and it requires the use of of what is called app transportation, an Uber or a Lyft.

Their prices are based on the level of traffic and I figure that if I wait an hour or so the rates will drop a couple of bucks.

The errand is somethiing I can do anytime.

I'm not cheap, but I am frugal. The ride home from the airport is about $100 during rush hour and about half that during lulls. While I am not going to wait for hours for the rates to drop, a while ago after I got off of a plane I looked at my watch and figured that if I could drag my feet for a short period of time I'd save about half.

I stopped off at the airport Dunkin' Donuts and had a cup of coffee and caught up on my email and figure I came out ahead because it only cost me about $54 to get home instead of over $100.

Just being a little bit observent can be quite helpful. Like I often say, it doesn't take much.

The problem with using Las Vegas (LAS) as a connection on a flight

is that an awful lot of people on the flight are headed to the casinos to gamble. There are a lot of retirees and handicapped people on the flight.

After you make the connection and are leaving Las Vegas you have a lot of pretty broke people on the airplane headed home in lousy moods.

The airport itself is a lot like the strip with all sorts of slot machines and gambling going on. I guess it's designed to try and recoup losses from the big winners of the gaming tables or maybe snag a few bucks from people with long connection times.

In short it is a three ring circus.

Still, I suppose it's better than many of the larger airports for making a connection though.

In what area has the internet changed things for you?

was asked on another board.

One wag answered, "PORN! I used to get turned on by the ladies underwear section of thhe Sears catalog. Now it takes me three lesbians in a Jell-o bath and Tinkerbelle flying over a gas stove that has a cute ass sticking out of the oven...." and he went on and on.

I admit. I laughed myself silly.

In other news, I am going grocery shopping today which should prove to be interesting.

I have checked finances and don't want to remortgage the house so I probably won't be buying beef.

I have a smart TV

and cut the cable a couple of years ago.

The smart TV's channels are about as worthless and boring as the channels I used to pay for on cable.

The only difference is I pay no cable bill which is a big step in the right direction.

I either watch movies I get for free on Amazon or watch what I can get on Youtube for free. When I think about it I am far better off without cable.

Mister Baseball goes to Cuba.

I got this story straight from the horse's mouth and have no reason to doubt it. Some of the names have been changed to prevent embarrassment as have the nationalty of a certain businessman.

This took place in the 1980s at a time when Cuban/American relations were at a low.

Anyone that worked on the Schuylkill River or Delaware River waterfront twenty years ago knows this guy. He was often referred to as 'Mister Baseball'. His name was Harvey and the title was well deserved. His passion in life was attending baseball games. He was not a human encyclopedia of baseball statistics. He just liked watching the game being played.

The company he worked for knew is and allowed him to rearrange his schedule during baseball season. The man was known not only nationwide but all over the world for attending baseball games.

It was common knowledge that the man had set the world record for watching the most major league type baseball games in a single day. Somehow he managed to jump the International Date Line and got two Tuesdays out of the same week and caught a game in Japan or whatever. I don't remember the fine details.

His very modest home was paid for and he lived small in order to be able to afford to travel all over the place to attend games. He was known in Japan and parts of South America and many baseball fans all over the world knew him on sight.

He didn't like fancy press box seating. He just liked sitting in the bleachers with the fans. He was a pretty humble sort of guy, actually.

Anyway, he was down in South America watching baseball games one time and commented to someone that he wished he could check out a game in Cuba but couldn't because of the blockade. The man he was talking to was a wealthy South American businessman who asked Mr. Baseball why he could not go to Cuba. Harvey pointed out the economic blockade that the United States had imposed on the Cubans.

The businessman pointed out that Harvey could visit Cuba. He just couldn't spend any money in Cuba. Harvey said that in effect that the rule made in impossible. He would have to pay for something to eat and a place to sleep.

"Not if I'm paying for it," answered the businessman. I'm not an American national and I can spend as much money as I want in Cuba. "Let's go watch a baseball game in Cuba. I'm buying."

Harvey jumped at the chance and they were on the next flight to Havana together.

They passed through customs and the instant they saw Harvey's American passport a pair of customs inspectors took one look at it, stared at each other and probably instantly thought 'American State Department!'.

Harvey looked at them and said humbly, "I know our countries don't get along very well but I just came here to watch baseball. I want to go to a game here."

Now at this point you have to know Harvey. He was a very overweight good natured likeable slob. He was not very well dressed. He took the term 'casual' to another level. He was an innocent, simply one of God's children. One look at him and you knew on sight he was incapable of being any kind of secret agent or any act of unkindness. He was also one of the most likeable people I have ever met.

He wasn't interested in politics and paid little attention to most of what was going on in the world. He simply didn't care. His love was simply baseball.

He was taken from the line, pulled into an adjacent room and questioned for some time. The Cuban customs people didn't know what to do with him. He was obviously NOT an agent of any kind and was probably in Cuba for his stated purpose. He was just some guy that wanted to watch a few baseball games.

The customs people didn't know what to do. People of anywhere didn't go to Cuba or for that matter anywhere out of their home towns to watch baseball games. If they like the sport they generally stay home and watch the games there.

Yet here was with his enormous bulk. A shabbily dressed smiling gringo standing in front of them with a huge disarming beaming smile on his face wanting to come and watch a couple of baseball games.

There was no policy or anything in 'the book' to cover something like this. The shocked customs people didn't know what to do.

Before I go any further I seriously believe that only difference between the Cuban customs officials and any other customs officials in the world is the native language they speak. They are minor government bureaucrats that pretty much do what they are told.

Customs officials are given a certain amount of authority but it is somewhat limited. They are there to enforce customs rules and regulations. They do not make the rules or foreign policy.

Phone calls were made, a couple of higher-ups entered the office and still nobody knew what to do with him. He was in violation of no Cuban laws and according to him and his South American sponsor the two of them were simply there to watch a baseball game or two. Nothing more, nothing less.

Once everything got sorted out he emerged from the questioning wearing a large badge of some sort that he was required to wear for the time he was in Cuba. His passport was properly stamped and he and his sponsor were released.

The badge he was given to wear declared him to be a special guest of the Cuban govenrment! What a gracious thing to do! Then again, if you knew Harvey you would not be surprised. Not even a little bit.

He and the businessman got to attend a couple of Cuban baseball games and were treated royally. Harvey and his businessman friend got to watch a couple of baseball games in Cuba. Harvey said he 'got to sit in the bleachers with the fans'. He said he had a great time. That was Harvey. Anything to watch a baseball game!

Of course he got hassled upon his return Stateside and was questioned by American customs when they spotted the Cuban stamp in his passport. Harvey said they were worse than the Cubans, who had merely questioned him. American customs threatened him.

Then they saw his badge proclaiming him to be a guest of the Cuban government  and went crazy. Apparently they had never heard of such a thing happening to an ordinary citizen. They demanded to know what Harvey had done to become a guest of the Cuban government.

Harvey said he didn't know. He told then the Cubans were awful nice to him when they found out he was only there to watch a baseball game. He said he'd like to go back there again and watch another game. Customs didn't know what to do.

Phone calls were promptly made to higher authorities that also didn't know what to do.

Just like he had been in Cuba, he was taken out of the line and taken into a back room and told he was subject to arrest for running the blockade. While the Cubans had certainly questioned Harvey, they never threatened him with anything. He was threatened by US Customs with several charges but he pointed out that he had spent no money in Cuba and was in no violation of law. He was a guest of the Cuban government and of a South American businessman.

They asked him if he had been followed while he was there. He said he didn't know because he didn't care if he was being followed because he was only there to watch baseball games and was doing nothing wrong. What did he talk to other Cubans about? He said he spoke with a few baseball fans that spoke English and they talked about baseball.

The customs men stared at each other agape.

Completely exasperated, American Customs simply released him and sent him on his way.

He mentioned something about a strongly worded letter he got from the American government later on but said he just threw it out and never heard anything about it since.

While writing this I have taken a couple of 'Google breaks' and discovered that travel to Cuba for an American these days is possible and seems fairly simple. I'm going to look into that.

The more I deal with the Cuban people from afar the more I wish the government would stop that stupid blockade and open Cuba to trade. Instead of two countries tearing each other down, we could both benefit. Both of our economies would grow and all of us would be better off and have better lives.

Besides Pennsylvania winters are hard on me. It gets cold in the winter in Pennsylvania. It would do me good to visit a warm place full of friendly people next winter.

Oh, goodie! A Cuban!

The other day I ended my day on the air with a Cuban and commented that I was glad to end my day on the air with a Cuban. I hope he didn't take it the wrong way and get offended.

I like Cubans because almost to a person they are some of the best hams on the air. They are the most enthusiastic and patient. They will go to great lengths to get you in their logbooks.

Much of the enthusiasm the Cubans bring into ham radio is probably because the Cuban ham Arnie Coro, CO2KK, has been a wonderful advocate of ham radio in Cuba. He was also heavily involved in the beginnings of Radio Havana, the Cuban national radio station.

Coro has had a program called DXers Unlimited on Radio Havana since the early sixties and as a kid I used to listen to it on an old three tube kit radio.

Ham radio can be an expensive hobby. On the other hand if can be done rather inexpensively if one has the talent to homebrew. I admit I don't have the talent. There are any number of Cuban hams out there that have probably forgotten more than I know about the hobby.

I do believe the requirements for a ham license in Cuba are far more difficult than they are Stateside. It tends to produce a more motivated and talented ham.

A while ago I looked up a Cuban ham I had worked on 'The Zed', QRZ.com. He was obviously a teenager and was sitting next to a beautifully handcrafted homebrew rig, beaming with the pride of a craftsman. I looked at the rig carefully and instantly knew this was not a factory radio, nor was it a kit radio. The rig was entirely homebrew made from whatever he could get his hands on. The craftsmanship was world class and it was obvious that he was proud of it as he very well should be! It was a piece of art and showed meticulous craftsmanship. It was nothing short of amazing.

Another thing I admire about Cuban hams is that they do humanitarian work. After any natural disaster they take to the airwaves and relay messages and help where they can. When the Carribean gets hit with one of their periodic hurricanes the Cuban ham community pitches in and helps out as they can.

After Hurricane Sandy clobbered Puerto Rico it was a Cuban ham calling "CQ Stateside" that I answered. He passed a message on to me and I was able to contact a Stateside family and let them know their daughter was OK.

It was some time after that I found out that the Cuban that relayed the message could have very well been sitting on top of a pile of rubble that had once been his home because that is when I discovered Cuba had been hit as hard as Puerto Rico. When I found that out I was humbled.

The Cuban hams had been hit as hard as Puerto Rico but still had the basic humanity to try and help someone else.

I have brought the subject of Cubans up to a number of American hams and every one of them agrees that they are great hams and wonderful, friendly people and are VERY well respected members of the ham community. Just about all of us hams would love to go to Cuba and meet the people we have worked.

I refuse to get into political differences while on the air. All I will say is that it is a shame that our governments do not get along very well and I am restricted from going to Cuba. I wish I could go and meet friendly people and visit a warm climate especially in the middle of a Pennsylvania winter.

Still, ham radio has made me some very nice Cuban friends.

I have ridden in a Tesla before and they are an amazing piece of machinery.

That being said, like a lot of things that are amazing it depends on what you want to use it for.

They are probably wonderful around town cars and grocery getters but they are certainly not the car you want to take on a lengthy road trip because you not only have to find charging stations, it takes considerable time to recharge them.

Of course you can refill a gas tank in just a few minutes and be back on the road. A Tesla requires hours at a charger. As of now there is some kind of super charger that can get you back up and running in about an hour. I'm not too sure how good that is for the longevity of the battery, though.

As for the Big Picture regarding the enviornment, I question what it does to Mother Earth because rare metals have to be mined and in some places the miners are exploited children. Also batteries cannot be recycled and can cause fires in accidents.

As far as the energy grid goes, they can't recycle windmill blades, either.

Then there's the question of the existing power grid. Places in California already have rolling brownouts. We simply cannot handle the electrical needs we have now and to add charging cars to the grid is to invite failure and leave us all hurting. Incidentally I have heard the Tesla uses 220 volts to charge which means installing 220 service somewhere near where one parks their car at home. While a one time cost, it is what it is. It's another expense.

It also means on street parking is going to be risky at best because first of all you need an extension cord and become a target for electricity theft and vandalism. For people that have no driveway in the city this will likely lead to parking wars which in some places are bad enough without adding the need to charge cars to the equation.

In short, the general public is not ready for the introduction of the mainstream electric vehicle in a lot of places and in a lot of situations.

It's too bad because the Tesla I rode in was an outstanding piece of machinery.

We're just going to have to wait until we get the other problems solved first as far as I can see.

For the umpteenth time a gun doesn't cure everything.

It's just like a fire extinguisher, a hammer or a pair of pliers.

It's just another tool in the tool box.

Winston Churchill once said, "A gentleman seldom if ever needs a pistol but when he does he needs it badly."

While not a cure-all, it is a good thing to have.

Thanks, Buddy.

I had someone over the house for some business. He saw my modest ham rig and asked me about it. I told him it was a ham radio rig and said I use it to talk to people all over the world.

He gave me a dubious look so in a 'hold my beer' moment I turned it on. I had the laptop running and a tab on one of the clusters so I glanced at it. A certain Slovenian was up on 20 meters so I tuned the rig to the frequency and there he was, booming at a 5x9+30 signal, clear as a bell. On top of that, his usual pileup had faded and he was calling CQ.

I threw my call sign out, he answered and I quickly said I have a visitor that had never seen a ham radio and to please tell him where he was right now.

He graciously gave his name, explained he lived in Slovenia and told us about his town and a couple of other pleasantries.

I wish I had a camera to take a picture of my visitors face because his eyes popped halfway out of his head and his jaw fell practically to the floor. It was priceless.

I just read where the Democrats are saying the answer to high gas prices

is to tax the oil companies even more.

You can't fix stupid, can you?

What are they thinking? The more they tax something the higher the price the consumer price goes up. What are they trying to do? If they are trying to crash the entire economy by making gas totally unaffordable they are on the right track.

We, the People ought to replace the entire government with working stiffs, Irish and Filipina mothers that understand the value of a buck.

SCOTUS should be replaced with Constitutionalists that can read the Constitution and POTUS should be replaced with someone that understands how the economy works and knows how to encourage business.

Making ribs.

My way, with a slow cooker.

Slow cook the hell out of them with onions and peppers and barbecue sauce. Then take them out of the broth and put them on a baking sleet, slater with barbecue sauce and if you want to, cover them with the onions and peppers, add a little more sauce and bake a while.

Fairly simple but a pretty good meal.

Another good rumor is going to start soon.

And I am going to start it.

The next time someone asks me why I have not retired yet I am going to tell that the office is paying me 3 times my pay rate not to retire.

Of course the wide-eyed youngster will ask me why and I will tell him that they are afraid that when I finally do retire I'm going to write a book and expose the entire industry.

I figure between about a quarter of the people there will believe it.

Everyone that hears that will get wide-eyed and most will figure it out but probably a quarter of them will believe it as gospel.

The old salts that know me will figure it out pretty quickly but keep it under their hat. On the other hand some old salts will wonder if I am going to write a book when I retire. I very well may.

Then again, this might not be a good idea...

I'll sleep on this one. Nah. Probably not.

Sunday morning.

An old co-worker and I chatted yesterday and found ourselves laughing over our careers.

We were laughing about the time one of the less talented skippers intelligently requested an assist docking a barge and someone in the office thought there had been some kind of an accident.

The skipper had done the right thing. It was a terribly windy day, the currents were wild and although he probably could have docked it alone he held back and got help. I actually like that guy because he was aware of what he could and could not do. He wasn't overconfident.

Anyway, through a miscommunication the office went into panic mode and wanted to know what was going on. Right after we tied her up I saw a couple of missed calls and called.

The phone had been ringing off the hook and there were a couple of emails. One of them was from one of the 'big boys' at the office. I chose that one to answer.

I hit 'reply' and typed in "No animals were harmed in the docking of this vessel." and hit send.

The phone rang about a minute later and I quickly explained that the skipper had called for assistance BEFORE anything happened to prevent anything bad from happening. I mentioned that the skipper wasn't the best boat handler we had but he knew it and didn't let his ego write checks his ass couldn't cash. He had simply asked for a little help.

There was a brief silence and he said, "I wish we had a few more like him," and the non-matter matter was closed.

Still, the story of my email got out and went through the fleet and for the next couple of months the buzzword for a non event was "No animals were harmed."

So what good did it do you?

Well?

I sit there looking at the crooked politicians in this world and ask them what it's gotten them.

This morning I took a dump in a regular toilet just like most people in the States do and I used the same brand bathroom tissue they use in the homes of millionaires.

I'm having venison for breakfast and maybe halibut for lunch.

I slept in a comfortable bed last night and woke up to a pretty good cup of coffee. Today I will go and do a few things that I enjoy doing.

I will dress in a comfortable outfit of pants, a shirt and a fairly warm coat as it is still somewhat chilly these days.

I do (and have done this) without cheating anyone, killing anyone, sending someone's kids off to war or making someone starve. It ain't a bad life. I go to work, take my money and go home.

I have never seen why a Lambo is a more useful car to me than a Toyota pickup and I really don't like the idea of telling other people what to do unless it effects me personally.

But most of all I have a pretty clear conscience, unlike most of our elected officials.

When it's all over and done with we're ALL going to be pushing up daisies. You can't buy your way out of the final appointment with the Grim Reaper.

Stop asking me why I'm crazy.

After all, I don't ask you why you're so stupid, do I?

Merchant Marine? That only effects the coast, right?

"Yeah, right, Kid. It only effects the coast. Those Chinese sneakers on your feet got here by magic. The Fairy f***ing Godmother brought them."

I'm not even going to bother trying to teach Logistics 101 anymore because you just plain can't fix stupid.

The Secretary of Transportation suggested we buy electric cars.

Which is no surprise to me because he seems to forget a couple of things.

First they're expensive and a lot of us can't just write a check for one or pay for one out of our pocket change.

Second we don't have the infrastructure to support them. Places already have summer brownouts as it is.

Of course, I expect no less from our politicians to make such a stupid statement like that.

But I don't want it.....

I had another bad dream last night about having someone try and force something on me that I don't want. In this case it was a new car.

I was in the Oprah audience when she gave everyone it it a new car and I didn't want it. I simply left the title on my seat when I left and thought that would be that until some one of her whatevers called me two days later when I got home.

I told him over the phone that I didn't want it and figured that was going to be it. NoOoOo. That was only the beginning of it.

Someone came to my door. I told them to get lost and I didn't want the damned car. They wanted to know why I didn't and I simply said, "Because I don't." and threw them out.

I figured it was going to end there. Wrong.

The next day I was beset upon my a small army of reporters at my house. Quick fix. I called the police and they ordered them off of my property. However they stayed in the street and one of my friends sent me a CARE package full of chow so I didn't have to go shopping and leave the house.

The neighbors grew tired of the reporters and told them off to no avail until I PayPaled one of them about $300 and he folloewed my instructions. He armed the street Irregulars with Daisy Red Ryders and inside a day the reporters, rubbing sore asses, left.

Then another couple of calls from a couple of legal types told me to just simply accept the car and call it good and wanted to know why I would possibly refuse a 'brand new car'.

I told them it had an automatic transmission, air conditioning and power steering and I didn't know how to use those things. Of course they offered to teach me. My reply was, "Yeah, but I don't want them."

Exasperated the legal eagle asked me what I DID want. I told him to write this down.

"I want a '62 Dodge half ton stepside with an external rear fender mounted spare tire, a four-speed floor mounted manual transmission, a Slant Six engine, a heater, a manual choke, a hand throttle with a bench seat to sleep on. No radio, roll-up windows and floor mats made of old conveyor belts covering holes in the floor to drop empty beer cans out of," I said.

"Where do I get that?" he asked.

"You can figure it out and, Oh yeah. The seats should be covered with something that I can clean out with a fire hose with the seats covered with GI blankets I can pull out," I replied.

"I'll get back with you," said the lawyer.

Of course he didn't.

I see a Part Two coming soon. Let this post stew a bit. Remember it.

It's scary when you have a 2 part dream. More later.

It's been a week and no part 2. This post has been hanging and being a pain in the ass because I have to keep bumping it on my unposted posts list.

Oh, well.

Murphy says the other half will happen soon after I post this.

Murphy is an optimist.

I did wait before I picked to side with Ukraine. It wasn't knee jerk.

Because early on I heard murmurings and wanted to gather more information.

Early on I heard that Putin, a nationalist, wanted to clean out the Ukranian swamp. There are not only the New World Order people but the swamp that's put an awful lot of money into the pockets of a number of our elected officials.

With that I witheld judgement until I saw what was happening and when I saw that Putin had in effect declares war on the Ukranian people, I threw in with the Ukranians.

Had Putin simply sent in a few trained hit men to whack various swamp creatures on a somewhat individual basis or selected individual swam targets I would have actually gone along with it.

I threw in with the Ukranians because I don't believe the people of Ukraine deserve to be dragged into this mess.

Much like Putin, I tend to be a nationalist. I believe in the sovereignty of the United States. I am unwilling to give up the protections provided for of our citizens guaranteed by the Constitution for some package involving 'the greater good'. First thing I want to know is the greater good for who?

Right now I have heard from several inside sources here and there that well over 70% of what we hear and read is total disinformation. I'm not surprised because the first casualty of war is truth.

Quite frankly ALL of this bull$hit is getting pretty stale and I think it is centuries past due for people to simply hand the warmongers.

It's always the average Joe that winds up footing the bill while the high muckety-mucks sit things out in comfort.

I just got word that UR8GX, a Ukranian ham I worked a while ago was killed defending his city.

It is a good day when I can irk the dogsnot out oof two people at once.

Some jerk was hassling some Karen about wearing a mask.

While I generally don't, if it makes you feel good about yourself then have at it.

So I went busting in and told him to leave her alone and that she has rights, too. She seemed pleased that a knight in shining armor showed up to defend her until I turned to her detractor and explained something to him.

"Besides, there might be a valid reason for wearing a mask. Maybe she was in DC on 6 January and has a warrant out for her arrest!"

I spent a part of yesterday standing on an overpass watching the People's Convoy headed to DC

and I was impressed. I expected a wall of Detroit Iron and instead got a lesson on good citizenship and professionalism. I watched for nearly 2 hours and I saw they had sort of spread things out so as not to block their fellow citizens. Traffic could manuever around them nicely. What professionalism!

Unlike the left, the truckers respected their fellow citizens!

I met one of the inner sanctum people before the convoy came by. Her husband is in the convoy and got a little info I probably shouldn't have gotten. Something rotten is planned in DC and I suspect the DC dirty tricks people are working overtime.

As usual, fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

The way I see it is that those assholes in DC should look at one John Fitzgerald Kennedy's statement. "Those that make peacful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitible".

I just watched peaceful truckers in Canada get crapped on by the RCMP and others. The truckers stayed peaceful. Trudeau does not know what he is faacing. When the truckers decide they've been pushed too far the $hit will hit the fan and then watch out.

From what I saw the big rigs were outnumbered by 4 wheelers by maybe 2 or 3 to 1. When you consider that the 4 wheelers were full of people, that's a pretty good crowd. Also the 4 wheelers can do a lot of things their big cousins can't.

This is from what I have heard the People's convoy and one of the smaller ones. There are a number of other convoys joining and the one I did see has more than enough vehicles in it to paralyze DC if they play their cards right.

It was wonderful to see so much Detroit Iron on parade and it was just glorious to see a segment of my fellow citizens on their way to DC to protest our losses of freedom.

Godspeed Truckers!

It really sucks living in a world where the guy that works for a living understands liberty more than college idiots do.

Those trucker are my brothers.

It's kinda like being Elvira but I work more.

Someone asked me about my work schedule and I told him I work three weeks and go home for three weeks. He said he had never heard of such a thing.

I said it was kind of like being Elvira but I work more. He looked confused.

Elvira works for about three weeks to a month every year. She pops out in October, does a few commercials, maybe a Halloween program or two and on All Saint's Day grabs her cash and slithers into back where she came from and you don't see her until next Halloween.

That seems to me like a pretty good gig if you can get it. Someone asked me why I didn't get a gig like that and I snapped back that my tits are too small. I got the expected blush.

Still, working 3 on/off isn't too bad, either.

There is a shootout at a nuclear power plant in Ukraine.

Wonderful. Just wonderful.

Many, many moons ago I commented that the human race is not responsible enough to be allowed to use nuclear power.

Sadly enough, I have been proven right.

Responsiblity for that pimplebrained stunt goes straight to the top.

Vladmir Putin is personally responsible for that one.

Hopefully the automatic shut downs work but there's a lot of cooling needed to take place.

I got to ride in a coal burner today.

Yeah, I rode in a Tesla and frankly I was impressed at it for a number of reasons.

The only noise I heard were tire noises and the driver said he had winter rubber on it. Winter tires are a bit noisy. The power was incredible. We didn't go over the speed limit but he did slow it up and punch it to show me. Yup. The torque was incredible.

He's had it 3 years, bought it off the showroom floor for under $45K out the door. He said he has had no repairs in the 90K miles he has driven it. All in all I was impressed.

I am Old School but not stupid.

I can see this taking hold...as soon as we build the infrastructure to support it,

Well, well, well. Back to the electricity argument again.

As I have said before the era of electric transportation is a coming but not until we have the infrastructure in place.

I get sick and tired of explaining to people that electricity is generated in power plants and not an energy that is made in magic boxes in everyone's living room. A lot of the people that believe that that's where electricity comes from have 'science is real' on a sign in front of their homes.

While we are at it, real science IS real. Real science that is.

Not junk science, not someone's guess and not altered numbers and fudged figures and rigged experiments. That's not real science.

One time a woman asked me why she and her husband could not plug their his and hers hair dryers into the bathroom outlet at the same time without blowing a breaker.

I told her that hair dryers use a lot of electricity and when people start getting greedy and take too much than the Electricity Gods permit they punish them for their greed by taking all their electricity away.

"Really?" she asked.

Meet Irina Tsvila, mother of two.

And if you know how to look through the look of exhaustion and fear you can see that the's absolutely gorgeous. She's a very striking woman. She's also the mother of two.

Actually, two orphans.

Shortly after that picture was taken Irina Tsvila was killed in action defending her home city of Kyiv.

Click on the pictures to blow them up.

In the interest of accuracy, she has also been listed as the mother of five.

Here's another nice picture.

Four women in Kyiv.

Things are pretty sideways when you start handing grandmothers AK-47s.

Look at the face and the eyes of he woman on the right. They tell you that this isn't her first rodeo. She's already seen too much in her life. Perhaps she was involved when the Ukraine split off from the Soviet Union. Who knows?

The woman that's upset probably has not seen her first action yet. If she survives it she'll probably have the same expression on her face the others do. After she's been through a couple more actions she'll probably have the 10,000 yard stare from time to time.

Meanwhile on Nextdoor some housewife is complaining bitterly that the trash truck was late or some other damned fool thing.

Note. This is my post and has NOTING to do with trying to contact a Ukranian journalist.
