So I replied "So was Nelson Mandela. He spent 27 years in prison."
"But that's different!"
"No it is not," I shot back. "They were both convicted in a court of law of committing a felony and both were sentenced. Mandela got life but was out in 27 and Trump got an unconditional discharge and faced no fines or jail time."
"Yeah, but yada yada yada etc. and so on and so forth." he babbled.
"Immaterial." I shot back. "Both are convicted felons."
Actually from what I have read it would take only a first-year law student to get Trump's case overturned by a higher court IF the higher court was honest. The judge and jurors all had ties of one form or another to various 'get Trump' interests. It was a kangaroo court.
In fact under the circumstances the judge AND jurors had a duty to recuse themselves which in itself may be considered a crime in itself.
