Well, well, well. Libs are triggered by American Eagle jeans

Because the model isn't a tattooed purple haired fat chick. She's an attractive honey blond with an attractive figure.

The libs are pi$$ing and moaning over it and it's actually pretty funny.

I have been wearing the same old jeans since I was a teenager but I looked at what American Eagle has to offer and I think I will try out a pair the next time I need a pair.

Because why not?

=====================================

When I hear complaints about things like that I generally tell the complainer "That's because you have never looked even close to half that good on the best day of your life."

MGTOW

Men Going Their Own Way.

I see where now 28% of 40 year old men have not been married.

I asked someone why he was single in his early 40s and the answer made sense.

"Why? What's out there? What do they have to bring to the table? The divorce rate is well over 50%. The last coffee date I made with a woman let me know right off the bat that with her I was in for debt, drama and raising someone else's kids...and probably losing most of my stuff further down the road."

Meanwhile I saw a video of some babbling Karen saying that being a stay at home mom should be drawing a paycheck.

I've worked alongside guys that decided they wanted a stay at home mom and a traditional marriage so they married Asian women and became expats. They worked 90 day on/off tours so they could make it work.

The more I look around the more I understand MGTOW.

When I saw a fat 20-something with her face tattooed like a South Seas cannibal I had a hard time not asking her is she was planning on trying out for the role of Queequeg in the next remake of Moby Dick.

Slim pickins out there for you youngsters. Can't say as I blame the MGTOW guys. I'd probably join them.

Sorry about yesterday.

I was up for a quick road trip to Camp Perry and a friend of mine made the dash.

We were there only long enough to make a few manners and shop on commercial row.

It seems the 'old gang' is getting smaller and smaller.

When New Yorkers leave New York City and move someplace else

can be interesting.

I've run into a few of them that adapted very easily and I have run into some that try to make everyone else conform to what they left behind. One of them actually became a trapper in Alaska and did well at it, living in the bush. I remember when he came to Kodiak. He was a quiet sort and started off groveling in the canneries and also went fishing briefly. I paid little attention to him and later heard he actually went trapping on Afognak Island. I only saw him occasionally when he and his partner came into town for supplies. Once or twice I had a drink with him and he said "I'm from New York City and I ain't never going back there. I love it here!"

But for every one of him, there were several loudmouths that I have come across that had the attitude "I'm from New York City and you can't tell me $hit!" These guys generally got eaten alive.

It didn't take long for them to realize they were completely in over their head and many of them left shortly thereafter. Most of them had a damned hard time realizing two things. One is that their NYC street skills were not in demand here and the second is that people and life is different in other places. They were the odd man out. They are also surprised to find out that the entire world does not revolve around New York City.

Another thing is that a lot of them never realized where their very food comes from. I suppose a lot of them have some vague idea of the existence of farms and ranches. It would not surprise me to find out that some New Yorkers think that meat is made in the back room of supermarkets out of petrochemicals.

It was funny when I went through basic training with a number of them at Fort Dix. There were these two NYC Puerto Ricans that had a hard go during basic because they just didn't seem to get it. It surprised me because they had enlisted for the same MOS I had, Artillery Surveyor. You had to be reasonably bright to get that MOS in your contract.

Anyway, near the end of basic they got their orders to Ft. Sill for MOS school and balked. They were not going to Oklahoma because their contract had specified Hawaii (or some damned place). Both of them sounded terrified about going to Oklahoma.  God only knows what the recruiter promised them.

They couldn't seem to realize that they were not going straight to Hawaii after basic and the two of them refused to budge. They were not on the plane to Lawton with me and I didn't see them at Ft Sill. I have no idea what happened to them but it was sure odd. I seriously doubt they got an entry level separation because in those days they needed warm bodies. It's entirely possible they got sent to wherever it was they contracted for as 'duty soldiers' and spent their hitch doing dirty jobs. Who knows?

Actually the big problem a lot of New Yorkers seem to have is their entire world is the city and think the whole country is like that. It's kind of like being a country bumpkin only in reverse.

Dimmer switches suck.

for the most part are actually a waste of time and money. In the past couple of months I have had to replace two of the three I have in the house.

Some day in the foreseeable I will replace the one in the front hall with a basic toggle switch because that, too is a joke. Who needs 'mood lighting' in a hallway?

There is also one in the bathroom which sounds like it makes no sense at all because I have a hard time believing that one goes into the bathroom to take a nice, candlelit romantic dump.

Still, the bathroom dimmer is the only dimmer switch I use as it is in the shower. The light I installed there is too bright. The dimmer tones it down. It's a case of set it and forget it.

In reality as far as day to day life goes, when I wake up in the middle of the night to pee the night light provides enough light to keep me on target and everything in the pot.

I don't need operating room light to take a shower and in the morning when it is still dark it's a little heavy in the glare department.

Incidentally (Murphy being an optimist and all) one of the two dimmer switches I have had to replace over the years is the newest one I installed in the bathroom after the fire a couple of years ago. It was about two years old when it stopped working which makes me wonder. The switch I replaced in the hallway was over 20 years old when it died.

When I moved in back around 1992 I started replacing plugs and switches for cosmetic reasons. I believe ALL of the switches and plugs were OEM, installed when the house was built in 1949.

None of then showed any signs of upcoming failure and I do believe they would still be functional to this day, 76 years later.

BUT we have to keep up with the times and time marches on and to make the place look 'modern' or 'new and improved' they got replaced.

Truthfully, the plugs and simple switches I installed have lasted about 30+ years in some instances. A guess says the newest switches are 25 years old with the exception of any add-on circuits I have installed over the years.

As I remodeled I did replace any old wiring I could as the old stuff tends to get brittle.

Still, what annoys me was having to replace a dimmer switch that died in about 2 years.

I run an Android cell phone

and don't know squat about iPhones.

Anyway, one thing I have noticed about my Samsung is how the storage is filling up somewhat rapidly over time. It seems like Samsung is always sending me updates (which makes sense) and game apps that I uninstall almost immediately.

I don't have a whole lot of self-installed apps, just the garage door opener, Uber, Zedge (ringtones), my printer, and a cleaning app which I run almost daily to keep the crap from building up. One time the cleaner app got rid of about 3 GB of junk.

I'm techno ignorant but I do know that keeping the junk out of any computer insures it can run faster and that when you start to run out of storage things get sluggish or even impossible to run.

What annoys the hell out of me is that Samsung downloads games and things and acts like it's doing me a big favor. It isn't. It's just filling my storage up with crap.

Phone games are about as useful to me as a nickel/gallon of gas discount app  from a convenience store 26 miles north of Madison, Wisconsin.

A comment on the movie 'Hacksaw Ridge'

that has been billed as a true story.

Mel Gibson, who directed it, said outright that it wasn't a true story.

Gibson failed to cover Doss's service in Guam and the Philippines that had happened earlier. He was decorated for actions in both of those places.

Gibson said that if he covered it totally truthfully he felt that the public would think Doss's actions were so far over the top that nobody would believe the movie.

It certainly wasn't a case of puffing things up. It was a clear case of deflating the truth.

Personally I consider Desmond Doss to be one of my personal heroes, partly for his actions in the $hit,  but mainly because he had the balls to stick with is convictions.

Say what you want about John Fetterman

but I seriously believe he does his best to represent the people of PA.

I may disagree with him most of the time but at least he isn't just another socialist marching lockstep with the rest of the party.

It always seems that every time we send a Democrat anything to Washington they always seem to forget about why they are there which is to represent their state or district.

They're too interested in playing 'to get along, then go along'.

I suppose a number of Republicans fit this mold also but not to as great an extent.

This'll fix it.

Someone commented on the lack of whites, especially white males in advertising.

The whole thing is pretty much of a joke and I see a real chance to make commercials, especially TV commercial interesting again. Or sommetimes hilarius.

What you do is put every single demographic in a computer with a random generator. When you want to make a TV ad you hit a key and whoever shows up on the random generator shows up.

You could wind up with anyone endorsing anything. A Catholic bishop doing a commercial for Trojan Magnums would get Catholics rather upset. A Jew shilling for Red Lobster would have the Jewish community outraged. Picture a Muslim cleric becoming the spokesman for Johnson's hickory smoked thick cut bacon. Muslims would go wild.

Things like this probably would not happen too often but when it did the tastelessness of it all would be epic. A lot of us would be in stitches as some bearded mountain man is standing in front of the camera endorsing a feminine hygiene product. Or a peaches and cream redhead dong an ad for men's hair tonic or whatever.

Want something to cry about? I'll give you something to cry about.

I think this fall I am going looking for America.

I want to go on a three or four (with an option to go over) day road trip through rural PA.

This is the kind of trip that should be done in either a pickup or a sports car. It is what it is.

This is NOT the kind of road trip that should be done by more than one person. It should be done by a single person. I should travel alone. Two people become a team of sorts and my search is a very individual thing.

I want to visit small town America for a while.

Some people's children!

I'm listening to someone claim that the government lied to him when they said Social Security and Medicare are not facing any changes.

It's a true statement. SS and Medicare are not changing at this time.

He was griping that his supplemental insurance went up about 3% this year and that the government lied when they said there would be no changes to SS or Medicare.

There's Medicare parts A and B. A is free. B costs you $178 out of your Social Security.

This guy is complaining that the government cheated him when the government has nothing to do with it whatsoever.

Incidentally the insurance company in question was United Health Care. Maybe they need the money to buy a new CEO because their got whacked in New York last December.

Maybe not. I see United replaced Thompson back in January.

Can you fly out of PIT without a Real ID?

Yes you can and very easily if you have a passport, passport card, military ID, Merchant Mariner's document and maybe something else.

I have also heard that you can still fly if you have an SS card, bills, and various other things to prove who you are. It will take you a lot longer to get past TSA, though.

Still, we've had 20 YEARS to get our act together and get some form of legitimate identification. TWENTY YEARS!

Still, there are people that are going to try (possibly successfully) by showing all sorts of paperwork. That's all well and good until you consider what that is going to do to the REST of us who are behind you in line, IDs out and trying to board a flight to wherever. We're going to have to stand there while the idiot fiddlefarts around and the rest of us have to stand there and wait for his bull$hit.

TSA really isn't too bad for the most part. Things generally go through clickety-click. Then comes the a$$hole that never had time in the past 20 years to get his act together and he's holding us up.

What ought to happen to him is he goes to the end of the line and after everyone with their IDs squared away go through THEN and only then can they deal with the people that have not bothered to get a legitimate ID.

So I see where my local state rep wants to change the requirements for teaching certificates

to fill in the ranks of teachers because of a shortage.

That tells me he wants to lower the standards. I don't even have to look twice at that one.  When in doubt lower the already low standards.

Teaching as a job has gone steadily downhill over the past several years. A big part of that is the authority of the teacher in the classroom has slowly eroded to the point where I have heard a couple of teachers say that if some kid disrupts class they really can't do a damned thing about it. Why am I not surprised to hear that?

One of my schoolteacher neighbors says she's ready to walk off and get a job working at Target. I can't say as I blame her.

Instead of giving teachers the authority to deal with disruptive kids the answer is lower the standards for a teaching certificate and let the talent leave.

Good play, Shakespeare.

Anyone remember keypunch operators?

They were the wave of the future that was supposed to provide high dollar middle class employment for millions of people.

They were replaced by PCs and other data entry methods. They didn't last very long.

Now AI is coming for coders.

Learn to code, they said. You'll always have a job they said. Surprise! Now AI is going to make coders obsolete.

Funny how it isn't effecting the building and construction trades. You still have security in roofing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pipefitting and similar trades. Even the trash guys have better job security than coders.

Funny how that works that the jobs that parents wanted to keep their kids from just seem to chug along and create pretty good paychecks.

Stop mistaking me for being an adult just because of my age.

At the ripe old age of 73 I am still perfectly capable of taking a bicycle with no brakes and riding it down a steep hill with no hands and no helmet while eating a popsicle.

Come to think of it there's probably very little anyone could do if I decided to do that.

Hmmm....where can I buy a popsicle?

I have made my career in logistics

which is moving a commodity from where it was made or stored to where it's needed. In my case I moved oil by water.

Now I was just another cog in the machine but over the course of my career I paid a little attention and figured a few things out regarding the moving of good from one place to another.

While I didn't calculate much out and don't have any real facts and figures, as in actually costs and distances, I have a pretty good idea of what the game entails. Basically it is about men, machines and expendables.

When people ask why something is expensive I simply tell them that that product isn't going to deliver itself.

The other side of things. Coming home.

When I came home on leave in the early 70s I got spit on and have carried the grudge until about 20 years ago. Thank you, Marines that shot at Camp Perry that year. I think I have told that story before here years ago.

Tonight it occurred to me that when I got out I hitchhiked to the family manse in MA from Ft. Carson, CO.

It was scratch hitching until I got to the Ft. Morgan (CO) scales and asked a trucker for a ride. He looked me over and saw my short hair. At the time hippie hair was the norm.

"You a serviceman?" he asked.

"Just got out," I replied. "Headed home."

He looked at me with and in an authoritative tone of voice simply said "Get in."

I rode with him with a load of beef to Davenport, Iowa.

During the last several miles he was on the CB trying to get me a connection which he did.

Most of the rest of the way home was a tired blur but those truckers kept me moving until I was a little over a half-mile from home. Mr. Kelly spotted me hoofing it down the final road and snagged me so I only had to was walk across the front lawn.

I do remember one trucker making arrangements with someone behind him to scoop me up when he had to drop me off to take his exit. He dropped me off about a mile from the exit with instructions specifically  to sit on the guard rail and wait.

Sure enough, a truck saw me and pulled into the breakdown lane and I hit the deck running. I was in the truck before it could come to a full stop and said, "Hit it. I don't want you to get a ticket."

He started working out the gearbox and inside a minute we were back in the passing lane making good time, double nickels be damned.

Looking back on things, the Vietnam war, the protests, the mistreatment of GIs I have to say that America was still there if you wanted to look for it. Sometimes you had to do a little digging but the values were still to be found.

I recall one trucker saying to me "I don't care how someone feels about the war, you don't $hit on the troops. They have no say in the matter. They go where we send them and do what we tell them."

From time to time I have to dig back and reflect on things and remember that America is still here even though you sometimes have to dig for it. I sometimes also have to dig for what the late, great Paul Harvey referred to as 'The rest of the story'.

I think that my 4th of July trip to small town America inadvertently stirred up a few memories and this is one of them.

8888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888

In other news, last night I heard the unmistakable sound of a tree falling behind the house. It spoke to me clearly and said, "I've fallen and I can't get up!"

After breakfast settles and I take a dump I have to go out and investigate.

Recon report.
Microburst.

At least six trees fell, including a huge oak. Most of which fell into my yard. Very touchy situation as I have gotten along famously with my neighbor for decades. Hopefully her homeowners will cover half of it. We shall see what we shall see.

Speaking of Top Men the other day

I recall that back in the days of Oprah being on TV and in the background at work because we only had antenna TV at sea and the TV was generally on for whatever reason.

Anyway, if someone didn't have a PhD or something scholarly under their belt and Oprah wanted to give them credibility it would simply say 'Noted Authority' under their name.

Of course the first time I saw that I asked one of the guys who noted him as an authority? Where is the authority noting organization?

Top Men.

Tuesday, July 15, 2025

I feel a pretty good sense of calm these days,

While I am not 100% happy with what I will be leaving behind when I pass, I'm not at all sad about it either. My fairly recent travels have seen to that.

Life is coming full circle fast and late last winter when I got to hold a newborn infant while mom got herself organized a very warm joy. It was truly a spiritual bonding of old and new. I pray the infant grows up and has a good life.

I still enjoy watching the two children across the street playing in the yard. They sure grow like weeds.

Still, the thing that seems to have given me the most hope was the opportunity to chat with a number of high schoolers in a small town north of here on the 4th of July.

It let me know that the real America is still here and that it doesn't seem to be going anywhere in smaller towns that have a sense of community.

I talked to a group of high school guys and was somewhat floored to find that they were not being suckered into the 'if you don't go to college' crap and was pretty pleasantly surprised to see how many of them were headed into the various trades and the reasons for it.

One youngster blew off a pipefitters and a lineman's apprenticeship and was looking at either an electrician, plumbing or HVAC apprenticeship citing that those trades would enable him to open his own business after he got licensed. Smart cookie. I like the way he thought and I told him about the electrician I hired once that had gotten his Master Electrician ticket and worked as a one man show specializing in small jobs. He was a character. I was supposed to pay him $125 and when he was done I stuffed a quarter pint of Jim Beam in his pocket. He chuckled and said, "Just give me a hundred bucks."

Needless to say I gave him cash. The kid was about 17 and grinned. I do believe he had a mentor somewhere.

A brief chat with a couple of teenaged girls told me that life in the small town was a lot easier. I live in Official Suburbia and parents here tend to micromanage their children's lives with an overload of activities. There's swimming, baseball, gymnastics, band practice and anything in between designed to keep the kids off the streets and out of the pool halls and being overseen by watchful parents.

In small town America they pretty much just push the kids out the front door and tell them to come home when the street lights come on. There's far less of a childhood of planned activities.

What's interesting to note is the girls I spoke with seem to be a little different. They seemed have different socializing skills which I imagine they developed by being left to their own devices more often than their Official Suburbia counterparts. Without all the scheduled crap and left to each other for entertainment they do things like I did growing up such as finding their place in the pecking order and so on.

One of the girls had been born there, the other have moved from Official Suburbia and it sort of showed. The native born took her surroundings for granted and the transplant explained to me that she was grateful for having been moved there.

When I asked them if they'd ever watched the clouds float by and daydream? They both said they do that from time to time. I did that often while growing up and found it both relaxing and settling. They said they did, too.

I also chatted with a lot of people of child rearing years and for the most part really enjoyed living in a small town. They said that they felt safe there and that they felt they were getting a far better deal in Butler County than they would be getting in Allegheny. They also likes their police department which a few claimed it ran on common sense.

This was a place where people took advantage of opportunity. I spoke with an accountant that worked from home. Another guy was a basic wage earner and another was a shopkeeper. A couple were commuters that drove downtown and considered the commute a small price to pay.

A couple of years ago when I went there for fireworks there was a cop directing traffic and I asked him where a good place to park was and he told me to park on the lawn and pointed. When I got out of the car I realized I was parking on the PD lawn!

Another thing I discovered that made me feel that there's hope is that I've read recently some college kids are rebelling against their Marxist professors here and there. One of the couple of reports said that they dropped the class to protect their cumulative averages because they were afraid that he'd hurt them if he found out they were conservative. Others said that they wanted to learn the subject and not listen to his crap. Still, that's a pretty good sign.

Throughout my entire adult life I have tried to pass on the way of life I enjoyed to the next generation because I knew I was blessed by a good form of government. This is the land of opportunity.

The things I want to pass on to my heirs is not some kind of trust fund or pile of money. I want to pass them down tools to work with so they can create their own wealth. I want to give the younger generation opportunity. If my leftovers could give a grandniece or grandnephew a solid education or even my tools to get started with I'd be good with that.

On the other hand, it doesn't have to be family, either. I would gladly hand off a few of my electrical tools to a motivated kid that wants to go into the trade or my carpentry tools or whatever IF they were going to actually use them. I don't want to pass on possessions. I want to pass on opportunity.

It's been a couple of weeks since I have laid in the grass and watched the clouds float by and daydream. The weather looks good tomorrow. Maybe I'll take an hour out to do just that.

One of the things I like about the neighborhood

is a neighbor got a dog a couple of years ago and the dog barked once in a while.

The neighbor saw me on the street and was apologetic over it and I laughed. It was a complete non issue to me.

I replied, "Tell you what, I won't complain about your dog barking if you won't complain about me cranking off a half dozen crater charges on the Fourth of July."

She laughed and agreed and that was that.

Things are not looking too good for the cat these days.

After over thirteen years of tormenting me and entertaining me my old buddy is starting to show signs of kidney disease and is probably not going to live a whole lot longer.

He still seems healthy and happy and it's off to the vets for the diagnosis later today or tomorrow.

If the diagnosis is bad I am not going to pour thousands into the animal to postpone the inevitable. I will let him go peacefully.

Vietnam, huh? I wonder what's going on?

What's going on?

Because I just use the hash to rant and rave and give myself something to do to keep me off the streets and out of the pool halls I don't really pay any attention to statistics. Maybe once or twice a year I glance at them and shrug.

This morning I checked for the hell of it and discovered that I have somehow picked up several million readers, overwhelmingly from Vietnam which I find rather surprising. For the life of me I can't figure out why so many Vietnamese have taken such an interest in nothing more than the grumblings of a tired old man.

The only reason I can think of that someone outside of the United States would find in my writings is that I write in idiomatic English. I'm certainly not writing in perfect, scholarly English. I'm aware that English is taught in schools overseas and perhaps some school may want to use me as a sample of some sort. Whatever is going on I would love to find out why so many people have taken a sudden interest in the Hash.

For that matter a number of people from several other countries have started reading my grumblings. If anyone from outside of the United States wants to tell me why there is so much interest in the grumblings of an old man please feel free to let me know in the comments.

Measles has made a comeback

having been supposedly eradicated in 2020.

Needless to say, the left is blaming RFKjr.

They should be blaming Obama and Biden for lax border policies that enabled an alien to bring the disease back into the country.

The game ain't over til it's over.

For a while I considered the possibility of an Iranian sleeper cell pulling off some kind of 9-11 stunt or even something worse after we destroyed Iranian nuclear capability.

Needless to say, the left will spin it that it's Trump's fault because if he didn't bomb Iran...yada yada yada.

The fact is that it's the fault of Obama, Biden and past presidents that have left our borders unguarded and permitted those people to enter the country in the first place.

Some time ago a screeching idiot claimed that preppers have to share their supplies.

"But what if they don't want to share their supplies with you?" I asked.

"Then we'll take them," he snapped.

"People like you are a very important part of prepper planning," I said. "It's a given that people like you will show up and preppers will put you to good use."

"What do you mean by that?" he demanded.

"You will be shot, butchered and put into small packages to be used as pet food. Dog have to eat, too."

He stood there agape for a few seconds digesting what I had said and walked off.

I took a chance.

I took a small sunset tour in the Miata.

I don't do bars but decided on getting an ice cream cone.

At the ice cream stand I saw a young mother with a 5 or 6 year old daughter.

"I want you watching me. Could I ask your daughter a question?" I asked.

She looked confused. "I want an honest answer. You only get them from young girls and old men. Young girls are too young to know any better and old men are too old to care."

The mother gave me the OK but was very curious.

I dropped to one knee and asked the little girl, "Am I old and ugly?"

She thought about it for about a quarter of a nanosecond and replied, "You look like my grandfather! and gave me a big hug.

Sometimes ya just gotta roll the dice.

Sunglasses.

Prior to my cataract surgery I never gave much of a thought to sunglasses. I just wore GI pilot sunglasses I'd pick up every summer during the Nationals at the Camp Perry PX. They were halfway decent and reasonably priced. They did the job.

After surgery my wife handed me a pair of brown lensed sunglasses to try out and while they interfered with the colors a bit they were great for contrast.

I also had an old pair of yellow Simmons shooting glasses and I tried those out for contrast on the target on cloudy days they worked pretty good at making the black blacker and the white whiter but were pretty useless on very bright days.

Last Sunday I brought both the browns and the ambers with me to the match and for the first string of fire the target was in the shade. The yellow glasses worked well. Toward the end of the string the sun moved and lit the entire target so it was too bright so I swapped them out for the brown shades which worked perfectly. Great contrast!

It was the first match I've shot with iron sights for a number of years. My first shot went straight into the X-ring!

Anyway I found a place on Amazon that makes basic flight frames with bayonette temples that has them in different shades. The browns are perfect for daylight driving and the light yellow shade is perfect for foggy, misty or night driving.

What a compliment to my cataract surgery!

(Oh yeah. I shot an Expert score.)

My take on the Epstein files.

1. Donald Trump's name was not mentioned once in the files. Had he been named anywhere in the files the Democrats would have released the files and the media would have gone completely insane. Most likely he would have not been elected.

My take on the files is basically simple. Most of the contents were shredded sometime between the election and 20 January. The cover and a handful of meaningless pages were kept. The entire DOJ had one hell of a time even getting what little of the files that they did. They kept the cover and meaningless pages just so there was something to give them.

As far as shredding files goes it's nothing new. DOGE has caught a few people doing exactly this. In one instance the DOGE team was sharp enough to recover deleted files and uncovered a lot of corruption with government money. Of course the culprits got away with it.

The older I get the more corrupt I believe the entire system is.

We wouldn't allow that in our HOA

was a comment over my antenna made a while ago.

When I started out as a ham my answer would have been "That's why I didn't buy in an area with an HOA.

Now my answer is "The Amateur Radio Parity Act says otherwise. Settle it with Congress."

It should be noted I have never once had a neighbor complain about my 43' DXE vertical. I have been blessed with neighbors that actually have lives.

Just to keep you from getting ahead.

is the answer I gave for the last 9 years of my career when asked why I hadn't retired.

I told one guy during my last year, "Just think! By continuing to work I'm getting richer and fatter which is fine but the best part is I'm keeping some young guy from being able to afford a decent place to live or a halfway decent vehicle to commute with. I'd seriously consider retiring if I knew their pay increase would wind up in Bubbles' G-string but whoever took over from me would probably be responsible with their pay increase and better themselves with it and I can't have that happening."

One of the things liberal activist think is they'll be rewarded

by the incoming New Boss.

They think that they will be given entry into the oak paneled rooms with leather furniture and be drinking 20 year old scotch and smoking Cuban cigars as a reward for their organizing the people to overthrow the old bass.

Guess again. It will be noted that these people are excellent people organizers and as such are dangerous to the new regime.

After Stalin got in he simply had most of these people shot but nowadays people are a little more discreet than that. They will become victims of mysterious accidents, suicides and things of that nature.

Shot three times in the head and ruled suicide.

Another thing that will happen is how snitches will be treated. They'll likely be allowed to carry on as long as their information is of value but will be carefully watched because they know that a person that would that would rat out their friends and neighbors would turn on them if it was to their advantage. Eventually a snitch will report the wrong person or become a nuisance and be carted off to camp.

Yeah. It really does work that way.

Of Karens, PTSD, Fireworks and lame excuses.

I threw a poll out on an internet board that has a pretty heavy veteran and police membership.

Which triggers you most:

A. Fireworks  (2.82%)

B. Karens using vets to further their agendas. (97.18%)

Surprise!

Veterans and others did not serve to have their service used by a bunch of Karens to further their agenda. They served for their own reasons. One of the reasons didn't include being held up to shore up some lame Karen's personal feelings because they don't have the grit to stand alone and speak out.

Of course when you call someone out on this they generally turn on the water works and hide behind false kindness with the usual "I was just trying to help...yada yada yada."

I generally don't let them off the hook. I point out that covering up cruelty under the guise of kindness is the worse kind of cruelty.

It's OK to have a cause. It's not OK to try and drag other people into if against their will.

Thomas Jefferson was right.

when he said Islam is not compatible with western civilization.

The other day some Muslim spouted off about how Christians should not eat bacon. With that he crossed the line. I'll leave it at that.

However I had half a mind to suggest that he get tossed into the hogs feeding tray to be eaten by them and in the process create MORE bacon.

I also see where a Muslim leftist is likely to be the next mayor of NYC and see that he wants to make whites pay property tax at a higher rate than others.

He isn't even in office yet and I see where a lot of wealthy people are planning on leaving NYC. Some of the financial institutions have reportedly left for Florida already.

He plans on opening city grocery stores to lower grocery prices and with city subsidation private stores will likely be forced to close giving the city control of the food supply. Expect a major pork shortage at first and once control of the city's food is attained expect them to control the populace.

Also expect smuggling to go in the increase as at first pork will be smuggled in followed by food in general. It's the same old story. The city will create a black market for various food products and the usual gang of people will enter the black market to make a few bucks. Please note the board of health does not inspect black market goods.

It's not racist if it's true but historically almost all of the other religions get along with each other except for Muslims. They seem to get along with nobody, not even themselves. Sunni and Shias often don't get along.

They are also as invasive as the day is long.

While they are a small minority they behave but as their numbers grow they become more aggressive. Expect cries for Sharia law to emerge soon after if Zohran Mamdani is elected.

Another thing to take a look at is the terrorist groups. Al Qaida? Muslin. Hamas? Muslim. The Taliban? Muslim.

Sorry. But I agree with Thomas Jefferson when he said Islam is not compatible with western civilization.

Things that are more trouble than they are worth.

Like my wonderful programable coffee maker.

Which I would have to reprogram after I move it to clean.

Besides I don't wake up at the same time every morning.

So what good is the programable part? It can't read my mind.

I just load it before bed and click it on when I wake up and pull a cup of yesterdays coffee out of the fridge and nuke it to tide me over until the coffee brews.

Does anyone really care if we go to Mars and colonize it?

The whole thing is just ridiculous when you think about it.

Why bother?

We could use the time and expenses better here on our home planet.

Then again I can think of a lot of people we could send there.

I see where AOC is probably going to be investigated.

If she is guilty of aiding illegals then she belongs in jail.

Needless to say the Democrats will piss and moan and call it political but it's not political at all.

It's criminal and the laws should apply to her just like everyone else.

I'm sick and tired of elected and appointed officials getting away with criminal acts that would get Joe Citizen jailed.

I just closed out my planner.

For the past several years I have kept a pretty accurate planner to keep track of various things. I keep track of appointments, meetings, my daily CPAP numbers, any medications I take and lately I've been tracking daily spending.

The planners I use cover the school year in that they end on 30 June and start on 1 July which is fine. I'm flexible.

I suppose there are people out there that will look all over hell for one that starts on the calendar year and I'm sure someone makes one but the school year planners work just as well and are easier to come by.

I generally but the new one about 6 months before the old one expires because things tend to overlap. For example it may be March when I get an August appointment/event/what have you so I log the event where it belongs. It saves me from having to log it on the 'notes' section and transfer it at the end of June.

Doctors offices always hand out appointment cards and I simply staple them to the appropriate date. Done and easily noticed. Certain others that are deemed fairly important get cards stapled to the dates, too with improvised cards I have cut out of card stock.

It's a pretty simple process of keeping my life in order and has served me well.
