For the past several years I have kept a pretty accurate planner to keep track of various things. I keep track of appointments, meetings, my daily CPAP numbers, any medications I take and lately I've been tracking daily spending.
The planners I use cover the school year in that they end on 30 June and start on 1 July which is fine. I'm flexible.
I suppose there are people out there that will look all over hell for one that starts on the calendar year and I'm sure someone makes one but the school year planners work just as well and are easier to come by.
I generally but the new one about 6 months before the old one expires because things tend to overlap. For example it may be March when I get an August appointment/event/what have you so I log the event where it belongs. It saves me from having to log it on the 'notes' section and transfer it at the end of June.
Doctors offices always hand out appointment cards and I simply staple them to the appropriate date. Done and easily noticed. Certain others that are deemed fairly important get cards stapled to the dates, too with improvised cards I have cut out of card stock.
It's a pretty simple process of keeping my life in order and has served me well.
