I mentioned that often times the first thing one would do when they came around or woke up is check their wallet.
Someone asked me what was so important that one had to check his wallet so often.
Back then it was strictly a cash society.Credit cards were in their infancy and harder to get than they are now. ATMs were a decade or two away and electronic banking had not even been invented.
If you didn't have green cash in your pocket you were up the creek without a paddle.
