Harris had the worst campaign I have ever seen. Toward the end of it Harris was promising a big chunk of change for first home buyers. That's not the government's job. It's their job to install an economy and a system that enables people to be able to do it for themselves. She attempted to try and bribe people using their own money.
The entire campaign was based on fear and bribery and empty promises.
I believe that Trump won because people looked at where they were four years ago under his economy. During those years I saw numerous hard core unemployables going back to work.
It would be interesting to find out how much money Kamala's campaign cost as opposed to what Trump spent. I think it's a safe bet that she easily outspent the Trump campaign by a rather large margin.
The woman I met on election day while getting gas commented that she had voted for more affordable gas, groceries and rent. Can't say as I blame her. Fact is she looked like a stereotype Karen which somewhat surprised me. She voted with her wallet which is pretty much what I did.
Someone recently asked me how much money he had given me. Truth is in cash money handed directly to me, none. (Covid money doesn't count) Instead he enabled me to keep a pretty damned good chunk of the money I earned myself by revamping the tax tables and reducing my income tax. That left me with more of my own money to spend. I was working when he did that and it saved me a healthy chunk of change.
I don't recall how much money it was but I did compare the numbers from the previous year and it was fairly substantial. Like a lot of people, I simply banked the return when it arrived.
Enabling people to keep their own money and handing them cash or a check are the same damned thing when you look at it so I can say Trump DID give me something. He just didn't come up to my house and hand it to me.
Those tax cuts gave people more money to spend and while mine went into the bank it went toward enabling people to get loans and mortgages.
Many people fail to understand that while taxes are needed to keep things rolling, the less taken from the working stiff the more he has for his family. I am no fan whatsoever of giving huge parcels of our wealth away overseas without damned good reason.
People were aware of the reckless spending made by Biden and her empty promises.
At one of her press conferences she said she'd bring down the price of groceries and a reporter asked her, "If you can do it, then why haven't you done it already?"
She didn't know what to say.
