When they have a PA Lottery drawing inside of a few seconds not only do they know that there's a winner but they even know what store sold the winning ticket.
It's been damned near two weeks and some states are still farting around counting ballots. I know PA and CA still are and I believe IA, AK, OH.
It's a damned joke. Needless to say, the longer they take the greater the chance of a steal.
I know that I voted electronically and the results of my precinct were probably available a few minutes after the polls closed. Taking into consideration that they may have closed a little late because policy is that anyone in line before 2000 gets to vote, it may not be until maybe 2100 or 2200 at the latest.
We should have had 100% results by 0600 7 November.

I can speak directly to the process in PA, because I work my local election precinct. All votes made on the electronic voting machines are put into a thumb drive, (the paper slips are a backup) and the thumb drive is turned over to the elections office in the county seat.
ReplyDeleteAll thumb drives are turned in by approximately 2200 on election night. (It takes a while for the poll workers at each precinct to hand count the paper backup slips, to make sure the machine totals match up)
The thumb drives from each precinct are then plugged into a computer downtown, which tabulates everything.
All of the ongoing counting, and I mean ALL of it, is absentee and mail-in ballots.
Good deal. Glad to see one of the Good Guys involved and I always want firsthand information. While I have voted absentee which requires a trip downtown and means a reasonable effort, I am against mail in voting and as far as I'm concerned if you HAVE to have it then ALL votes should arrive 24 hours BEFORE election day.
