I am watching the scandals

Going on with our government officials.

Al Franken, a person I consider dishonest since Day One has resigned. I also read where another representative has resigned and a few more have announced they will not seek re election.

I do believe this is a spin off from the (I believe) false allegations against Judge Moore. It seems to me like it started a feeding frenzy.

Some powerful men think they can get away with anything. Often they can. However, once the charges started pouring in against Judge Moore a lot of people that have been abused by other leaders have started to come forward.

The Dems and RINOs started this and it has come full circle and has bit them squarely in the ass.

People have come out and are starting to speak up.

John Conyers has resigned from the House amid accusations. He has tried to 'appoint' his son to take his place. Apparently Conyers has quite the reputation for getting grabby with women.

What is going on now is actually pretty healthy. It means that some high muckety-mucks are being cut down to size. That's always a good thing.

With any luck the feeding frenzy will turn to those that have taken money for influence. I read once where Mitch McConnell is worth considerably more than he was when he came into office.

Harry Truman once said that if a person was honest that there was no money to be made in public service. Truman left the White House poorer than he was when he got there.

I think that what is going on to some extent is that people are getting involved and are trying to help drain thee swamp.

A neighbor just asked me last night how far down the chain this would go and I laughed. "You think that Mary Jane Rottencrotch is going to come after you for poking her in the back seat of the old '57 Chevy?"

We both laughed.

"What's your net worth?" I asked.

"Not much," he confessed.

"There it is. You're not worth going after because you don't have anything to take. There is power in poverty. You can get away with a little more."

"Good point," he chuckled.

Actually this is probably how it is supposed to be in a way. We should hold our elected officials to a high standard.

As for power in poverty?

There are still legal remedies for people that get out of line and they apply to everyone, or at least should.
