GIs don't need congress critters to remind them

not to obey unlawful orders. They already know that. It's in the oath they take upon enlistment. "And to obey the lawful orders of the officers appointed above me..."

What is going on here is clearly an attempt to demoralize the troops and get them to question the authority of the President and Secretary of War.

Actually it's more than that. It's an attempt to plant a few seeds of rebellion  in the heads of a few generals that are angry over being told to get into shape. The poorly hidden message I get is that the congress critters are fishing for someone to start a military takeover.

They don't know what they are asking for because when someone seizes power they never want to give it back. The very people that encourage this generally wind up being shot by the person that has seized the power. They probably don't realize it but they are asking for a military dictatorship for the country.

Needless to say, the 'illegal orders' in question are the drug boats carrying cocaine and fentanyl into the country which are a clear and present danger to the United States. Fentanyl kills.

Trump taking action as president is nothing new. For example JFK didn't like the idea of the Russians setting up missiles in Cuba and blockaded it back in October 1962. It should be carefully noted that Kennedy did not consult with Congress over this. He spotted a clear and present danger to the country and handled it much like Trump is doing with the narco boats. He's acting clearly in his powers as the   C in C.

Incidentally we have had a war on drugs since Nixon formally declared it in 1971. While not an official Congressionally declared war, it has been a de facto war since then.

It would not surprise me in the least to find that various congressmen are having 'quiet words' with Obama/Biden appointee generals or admirals promising them the pie in the sky if they can orchestrate some kind of military coup.

Of course if it fails we will be treated to watching a whole ringtailed passel of congress critters scurrying around looking for a place to hide to keep from getting their just desserts for trying to overthrow a legitimately and duly elected President of the Untied States.

The truth is that the congress critters are standing on fairly safe legal ground as there is no law against telling someone that they have to obey the law.

What is patently wrong is the entire context of why they are doing it. They are doing this with malicious the malicious intent of clouding the minds of our troops and giving Obama/Biden generals a few delusions of grandeur. For this they ought to be hanged for attempting to undermine the troops.

One of the most important things the troops need is clarity and the ability to focus on a mission. They don't need seeds of doubt planted in their minds. It could get them killed.

Of course the Trump hating congress critters don't give a damn how many GIs get killed if it helps eliminate Trump. I do. Our troops are nothing more or less than people with mother, fathers, sisters and brothers that have elected to put their lives on the line for our country. The least you can do is not use them as political pawns. If you do you should be hanged for treason and/or aiding and abetting the enemy.

As for Trump reminding you that the penalty for sedition is death, I think it's hilarious because it's just another case of Trump putting the shoe on the other foot.

One other thing to you veteran congressmen, I too am a veteran. I don't hide behind it because I'm aware of the fact of what I did in the  past does not absolve me of the responsibilities I have today.
