The reason people block traffic during protests is because they are permitted to get away with it. If one does not permit it by making consequences for that behavior then that behavior will stop.
Someone asked me how to stop people from doing that. I replied that making it legal to drive through them would stop it immediately.
They looked at me wide-eyed and said hundreds, maybe thousands of people will be killed. I replied that only a few people would be killed or injured because after the first time or two they will figure out that getting run over is not a good idea they will stop blocking traffic. Actually over time lives will likely be saved because ambulances won't be caught up in gridlock caused by protesters. The losses will only be a small handful of Darwin candidates and the usual assortment of stupid fat chicks.*
The same holds true for illegal immigrants. If you post a bounty on them, dead or alive of, say, $10,000/head effective in 90 days then there will be very little violence because the whole push of them will self-deport.
When Dad figures out that him, his wife and two kids are worth a new car or home down payment to someone then he isn't going to hang around for very long. He'll grab his family and bug out.
In fact it would probably be the biggest mass exodus in human history.
*Anyone bother to notice in videos that most of the people that get hurt blocking traffic are stupid looking fat chicks and that the guys that are obvious instigators stay alongside the vehicle where they are not too likely to get hurt?

That solution is so obvious! I think equipping officers of the law with bayonets and proper training would also work wonders.
ReplyDeleteYou wouldn't even need police officers. 3000 pounds of Detroit iron at normal traffic speed would manage to punch through a line of protesters.
