don't make money, create wealth!

One of the things a lot of people mistake is the difference between making money and creating wealth.

There IS a difference.

When a person opens business and hires people and gives them a paycheck he is creating wealth. The people that now have jobs spend their paychecks and purchase things that tend to create other jobs and businesses.

Hopefully, the business owner makes a profit and he, too spends his money and on it goes.

The business owner has created wealth.

Enter greed and the drive for greater and greater profits and to keep labor costs down the business owner outsources his labor to somewhere else.

Sure, the business owner makes more money, but he sure the hell isn't creating wealth anymore. All he is now doing is making money.

There's a difference.
