Poverty is a mentality.

which generally keeps people poor.

It causes them to make bad and stupid choices. The poor tend to do dumb things like put a $1500 set of spinners on a $1000 car.

I recently wrote somewhere else that if you take two people, one successful, one poor and srip them down to nothing and hand each of them $500,000 the successful one will still likely have the whole thing because he invested in his own business or something along these lines.

The poor guy will be broke in six months.

Give both of them a decent vehicle and inside of a year the successful person would have a good running, well mainained autommobile and the poor one would have a piece of junk if it is still running at all.
