I just read where the Cajun Navy has been getting shot at in Texas.

The Cajun Navy is just a bunch of decent guys that take their own small boats out at their own expense and rescue people during times of flooding. This is actually America doing what it does best at grass roots level. Members report being shot at and an attempt made to steal their boat.

Quick fix. Issue each boat a National Guardsman with an M-249 and orders to return fire and establish superior firepower.

I figure that whatever thug is up to trying to injure a volunteer first responder is going to probably decide to find a new line of work after his little two shots from a pimpy little .32 is returned with, say a belt’s worth of .556 NATO as a warning.

Of course if the little thug stops a couple of rounds that’s a pretty good deal, too. It takes him out of the equation right then and there. If the hits are fatal he’s out of the equation permanently.

I have no problem with a first responder returning fire out of self-defense. 

Self-defense is a God-given right.
