I see where Old Jug Ears

has given Iran $400,000,000 to Iran in what amounts to ransom. This very well may be a criminal act according to what I have read in a couple of places.

The money paid is nothing more or less than ransom. Paying any ransom is patently against US policy and may in fact be against the law.

This opens the door to other rogue nations kidnapping and blackmailing us.

Back in the late 80s someone told me how the Germans used to do things. They would simply pay and get the people or whatever released.

Then came page two. As soon as possible German agents would track down and whack anyone that had anything to do with the kidnapping. From what I was told, I mean ANYTHING to do with it.

You put the guy up when he was on the lam afterwards? Adios. The guy that sold them the guns, explosives, whatever? Bye, bye!

How true that is I do not know but the person that told me that was a German national living here in the States. At the time he told me back in the 80s I believed it. They may not do this anymore.

The United States policy has simply been not to deal with the terroristic types, period. It's been a wall that has been held up for decades and seems to have worked.

Yet the president has seemed to go against policy and in the long run this makes it a lot less safe for the rest of us.

  1. I thought you were a live-and-let-live kind of guy, but lately you've been starting to sound more like a Fascist. It's a little scary.

    1. I am a live and let live guy until you stop letting me live in peace. Giving 400 million to a rogue nation as a ransom is sending a message that we will deal with terrorism. Not a good thing. Do it once and they come back for more.

  3. Incidentally I did not say I agree with the way the Germans do things. I believe we simply should not be dealing with terrorists and rogues in the first place. A 'No deal' policy is the best way to go in the long run. Ever heard of "Millions for defense but not one cent for tribute'?
