I do believe the Republic is at a serious crossroads and

we are seeing a series of power plays going on.

What's happening in Virginia goes well beyond gun control. What is happening there is a power play.

Now that the Democrats have the triple play of the state government they are planning on keeping it through foul means.

The present term for governor is four years and they want to up it to eight. They also want to change the requirements for recall to make it more difficult to legally recall senators and delegates.

As of now gathering the signatures of 10% of the people that voted in the election the delegate or senator ran in is enough to trigger a recall election. The Democrats want to change it to 25% and the people have 60 days to gather them. This effectively makes any attempt at recall difficult at best and upsets the system. People have  right to recall elected officials.

In addition to this, they are also tampering with the ballot box, planning on enacting legislation that would permit anyone whatsoever to come in and vote. This includes illegal immigrants who certainly have no right to access the American ballot box anywhere.

The courts have been too heavily politicized now for decades. As of now federally one sees Trump is doing what he can to to stuff the Supreme Court with conservatives like Obama tried to stuff it with liberals. Courts are not supposed to be political in any way. They are supposed to clarify points of law and Constitutionality of laws and various situations as the arise. Nothing more, nothing less.

The courts should be neither liberal nor conservative.

Under the Virginian constitution there is a statement that reads as such: "That a well regulated militia, composed of the body of the people, trained to arms, is the proper, natural, and safe defense of a free state, therefore, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed; …"

Generally when a government decides to do something they would be shot for they try and disarm the citizenry. It looks like the Virginia state government is getting ready to do something they probably should be shot for.

Theodore Roosevelt said once that our freedoms are protected by four boxes, the soap the ballot box, the jury box and the cartridge box.

What I see going on in Virginia is tyranny.

They have corrupted the jury box, are in the process of tampering with the ballot box. They seem to completely ignore the citizenry because the day after Lobby Day they went about the process of enacting unconstitutional gun laws after 25,000 people showed up to protest it. It was a slap in the face of the people. So much for the soap box.

This, of course means the only box left is the cartridge box.

Right now I will bear no ill will whatsoever toward any Virginian that opens the cartridge box.

As far as I am concerned the people of Virginia did their due diligence by holding the rally and putting the state government on notice.
