One of the things I see fairly regularly when someone asks a question is the suggstion 'Ask the police.'
Someone asked the Nextdoor board when such and such a gift card was going to expire and it didn't take long for some woman to say, "Ask the police."
It happens a lot.
How is are policemen supposed to know how long a such and such gift card is good for?
A lot of people use the police department as a catch-all for anything they don't know the answer to and go into shock when a policeman doesn't know something like what the population of Kalamazoo was in 1912.
Now that I mentioned it, what was the population of Kalamazoo in 1912?
Google> Kalamazoo >Wikipedia> 1910 population 39437 and 1920 population>48487
48487-39427=9060/10=906x2=1812+39437=41249 so about 40249 which sounds about right. Close enough.
Good to know. It saves me from having to call the police to find out.
