One of the things that often scares me is a rookie cop.

As a general rule of thumb I figure that it takes about five years to make a halfway decent cop. They generally need that much experience to get good people skills which is about 95% of the job.

I have a great department that actually serves the people of the township and appears to do a damned fine job of it. They cull the jerks out of the force as quickly as possible and from what I see hire experienced officers.

It makes for a pretty good department.
