Laws are generally for stupid people.

Stupid people need laws or they will do stupid things.

Responsible people don't need laws because they act responsibly.

An example would he the 25 mph speed limit in residential neighborhoods. Responsible people automatically slow down to prevent accidents and to keep from running over kids and that sort of thing.

Idiots would race through residential neighborhoods at Mach 3 if there wasn't a posted speed limit.
