There is a small folding steep stool in the kitchen and I am looking at it right now.

Someone asked me why I had it and I pointed out that I am not the tallest person in the world. For example I have a hard time reaching into the cabinet over the refrigerator.

It's one of those things like a pistol or a fire extinguisher. 

I don't need one often but it's certainly nice to have when/if the need arises.
