The racism of low expectations.

One of the things that a lot of people seem to miss is that liberals have a very overlooked, demeaning and underhanded form of racism. It's called lower expectations.

It is an insult to anyone of any race, creed, color or whatever that is on the receiving end of it. On the other hand, many people that actuallly are on the receiving end of it often do not realize it.

A classic example of ths is government set-asides for various things like contracts that are 'set aside' for minority owned companies.

These set asides are often explained as 'leveling the playing field' and in my opinion are quite an insult to the minority community. This also enters the field of hiring. Government often hires based on minority status instead of competence and merit.

It is simply saying that minorities are not as capable as everyone else so they need a little extra help along the way so they can overcome their inherent inabilities.

Colleges do this with admission policies. They have for years. Actually many schools penalize Asians because they often have a higher academic success rate. Asians often have to score higher than blacks and whites.

It is an insult and a serious form of racism. It is telling minorities that less is expected of them.

This also leads to discrediting minorities that are successful in their own right.

The simple solution is to really level the playing field and hold everyone regardless of race, creed, color, sex, or whatever to the same standard of excellence.

Of course, in this day and age I will be labeled as a racist for saying this but I have been called a lot of things so I'm not too worried about it.

Still, there are two things that will overcome racism. Holding everyone to the same standard is one.

The other isn't going to be as easy to overcome. I won't cover it here except to say that while there is money to be made on racism people like Al Sharpton and David Duke will continue to profit and the practice will continue.
