You don't rob a bank because you love being poor do you? You hate being poor so you rob it.

Hate crime.

You don't park in a handicaped spot because you like to walk into the store from a parking space across the lot in Outer Mongolia, do you?

You park illegally because you hate to walk for eight blocks.

Hate crime.

Most crimes are committed because someone somewhere along the line hates something or someone.
