Nature takes its own course and doesn't need any help.
As a rule of thumb wild animals seem to survive in spite of the best efforts of humans to try and help them.
Someone mentioned seeing a seal pup on the beach and a small crowd gathered wondering what to do about it. The answer is get away from the pup.
It's a pup and the mother put the pup on the beach so she could go fishing to feed the pup. She won't return if there's a crowd hanging around the pup.
Deer are another thing. Suburbanites get all weirded out when a doe leaves her new fawn someplace right after she's given birth.
One time I had fearful person call and ask me what to do. I told them to do nothing. The mother would be returning soon.
"But where did the mother go?" they asked.
"Probably to the Foxtrot for a burger and a beer," I replied. "You'd be hungry if you had a child under a tree with nobody to assist you, too."
Just leave them alone and they'll be just fine.
